2006 “Carnival of Life”

The sun shone on over 150 families who headed to the beach on September 17, 2006, for The Tiny Miracles Foundation's (TTMF) third annual "Carnival of Life" fundraiser. The event raised well over $65,000. These funds will be put towards TTMF's programs which offer support, information, supplies and assistance to families with premature infants during and immediately following their hospitalization in Fairfield County, CT neonatal intensive care units (NICUs).

I'm a Tiny Miracle

Held at Wee Burn Beach Club in Rowayton, the family-centered event featured live entertainment by two popular children's bands, "Alex and the Kaleidoscope Band" and "The Swingset Mamas," as well as moon bounces, "Hands On Pottery" painting, Meadow Brook Farms pony rides on the beach, Sono Seaport's marine touch tank, face painting, caricatures of the kids, and the ever popular balloon creations and show by "Pongo the Clown." The crowd was also entertained with Irish dancing and gymnastics demonstrations by some very talented local children.

The beachside BBQ buffet offered scrumptious fare for young and old alike... with plenty of ice cream, popcorn, cookies and watermelon to satisfy even the biggest sweet tooth! And to keep mom and dad busy, the silent auction featured a wide array of items, including children's parties and lessons, hand made sweaters, portrait sittings, a Bitty Baby, a wine-tasting party, a saltwater fly-fishing outing, and gift certificates to numerous popular stores and restaurants in Fairfield County.

Possibly the biggest highlight of the afternoon was the raffling off of a 2006 Mini Cooper from the Callari Auto Group of Stamford, which also sponsored the event. Callari's Director of Operations, Charles Napolitano, and his grandson Adrian, who was born prematurely 2 years ago, drew the winning raffle ticket, which went to an excited Alice Clark of New Canaan, CT.

It was truly a superb event organized by TTMF Board member, Kimbel Biele of Rowayton and her incredible team of volunteers.
