The Tiny Miracles Foundation raised over $100,000 at their "Mar'tini' Miracles" event on Saturday night, March 31st at Wee Burn Country Club. The event sold out quickly and 300 guests attended for a night of celebration and new beginnings for this local grass roots, non-profit organization. The event was
sponsored by Bristol-Myers Squibb, Hearst Corporation, the law firm of Kelley, Drye and Warren, Kelly Associates Real Estate, Merrill Lynch New Canaan, Norwalk Hospital Foundation and the Stamford Hospital Foundation, as well as several private sponsors.
The room was dim, with many candles aglow as guests arrived in "denim chic" attire to enjoy a jazzy nightclub theme replete with a piano player and trays passing Grey Goose Cosmopolitans and Lemon Drop Martinis. After cocktails guests moved to dinner where the sounds of Vali Music filled the air and tables topped with creamy calla lilies, hydrangeas and flickering candles delivered a sensuous glow throughout the room.
The evening brought feelings of joy along with tears as The Tiny Miracles Foundation premiered their first video which tells of the journey that a family of a premature baby endures, and how TTMF's programs have been developed in local hospitals to help these families. The video presentation was followed by a spirited live auction with donations from generous, in kind sponsors such as AOL, Patricia Blake Catering, Leary's Liquor Cabinet, Essential Health Catering, and Christopher Rollinson Design, as well as homes and trips provided by private donors. JoDeluca Photography helped make the night unforgettable and when it was time to say goodbye, a few lucky guests found an iPod Nano in their goody bag. Thanks to other in kind donations from Blue Tulip, Stirrings, Lanphier Day Spa, Sephora, BabyTalk Magazine, Cookie Magazine, and Sweet Lisa's Bakery in Greenwich, the goody bags were overflowing.
