“Miracles en Mayo” a Miraculous Success!

The Tiny Miracles Foundation (TTMF) held a very successful "Miracles en Mayo" fundraiser on May 15, 2010 at Wee Burn Beach Club in Rowayton. Over 270 guests enjoyed a beautiful setting and delicious food while helping to raise over $140,000 for the Foundation's programs and for the creation of a new parent resource room in Bridgeport Hospital.

The event was blessed by a perfect spring evening and the lovely weather contributed to the beauty of the colorful Mexican-themed decorations under a tent overlooking the Sound. A percussionist and flamenco guitarist added to the ambiance during the cocktail hour while attendees perused almost 70 silent auction items and enjoyed a beach-based golf chipping contest into a row boat. The delicious Mexican food throughout the evening included a fish tacos station, and dinner buffet with delicious fajitas and more. Desserts were provided by Dough Girl and included sombrero cookies; the Norwalk Cigar Factory Outlet provided a Cuban cigar roller for enjoyment after dinner.

The organization was generously supported by numerous event sponsors including Bridgeport Hospital Foundation, Broder & Orland, LLC, Callari Auto Group, Norwalk Hospital, and Stamford Hospital, as well as several local families and family foundations. In-kind sponsors included Diageo, Groove Events and Party City. Many local businesses donated items to the silent auction which was the highlight of the evening.

In addition to funding TTMF's regular support programs, such as their emergency financial assistance program, a portion of the proceeds from this year's event will be used to help fund a new parent resource room in Bridgeport Hospital. TTMF resource rooms provide an educational, private sanctuary for the families of premature babies in the hospital. Currently, TTMF has developed these wonderful rooms just outside the NICU's of Norwalk and Stamford hospitals. The Bridgeport Hospital TTMF resource room is scheduled to be constructed in the Fall of 2010.
