Tiny Miracles Foundation’s ‘Where the Miracles Are’ Spring Gala Raises $150,000 for Support of Families with Premature Babies in Fairfield County

May 20, 2011 (Darien, Connecticut) — The Tiny Miracles Foundation held its fifth successful annual spring gala on May 7th at the Wee Burn Beach Club in Rowayton, Connecticut, hosting over 300 guests and raising over $150,000 for the Foundation's family support programs.
This year's event, "Where The Miracles Are" was playfully themed around Maurice Sendak's classic children's story, Where The Wild Things Are. Guests wore island chic attire and enjoyed steel drum and marimba music while they browsed the silent auction. Many eyes were on the boat on a float in the Sound, as guests took chances to win a prize by driving a golf ball into the boat.
During dinner, Executive Director Gwen Noto and Board President Leelee Klein honored past board members Eila Johnson and Kathy Konopka Streinger of New Canaan, and Kimbel Biele of Norwalk for their extensive contributions to the organization. They also recognized the extensive program support of Kathy Harris and The First County Bank over the years, as well as mentioning Milt Jacoby of Fairfield, for his recent collaboration with the organization to help create a parent resource room in Bridgeport Hospital. Guests were later treated to a video presentation donated by Darien resident David Roofthooft of HBO Productions. The video highlighted TTMF's long standing programs and also depicted the challenges, triumphs and resiliency associated with premature births. The highlight of the event was the action-packed live auction, which included items such as a trip to Villa Di Campolungo in Florence, Italy, a vacation home in Sun Valley, a catered dinner party by Susan Caissy Caruso Special Events, New York Yankees Legacy Seats and a stay at the Ocean House in Watch Hill, Rhode Island. The crowd ended the evening dancing to the wonderful sounds of the John Brazil Trio provided by Groove Events, LLC.
Along with multiple individual family sponsors, local corporate sponsors included Stamford, Norwalk and Bridgeport Hospitals, Callari Auto Group, The Center for Advanced Pediatrics, Broder & Orland LLC, Lamar Advertising, Baywater Properties, Charles Schwab and Kelly Associates Real Estate, Inc.
