Get Involved

The Tiny Miracles Foundation is a volunteer-driven organization. Our volunteers’ dedication and passion allow us to provide numerous programs to parents of premature babies free of charge.  Your time, talent and understanding will provide a unique quality to our programs and your work will directly impact the lives of the most fragile members of our community. Join our volunteer family and get involved!

Peer Parent Mentors

Are you a parent of a premature baby and live in Fairfield or New Haven County, CT?

Your personal experience of having a premature baby gives you a unique understanding of what new parents in the NICU are going through. By becoming a parent mentor, you can help them navigate their NICU experience and support them during their transition home. Studies show peer-to-peer parent support can significantly improve the emotional journey while parents care for their new baby(ies).

Our peer parent mentors:

  • Visit new preemie parents in one of our partner hospitals offering peer-to-peer emotional support
  • Support families remotely  through calls, texts, or emails as part of our Peer Parent Mentor Network
  • Host Playtime with Preemies Playgroups and Connection Calls

As a peer parent mentor, you will receive ongoing group and individual training by various professionals several times a year.
