  • The NHTSA recommends that child safety seats be replaced following a moderate or severe crash in order to ensure a continued high level of crash protection for child passengers.1

Consumer Reports' National Testing and Research Center is "the largest nonprofit educational and consumer product testing center in the world."2 They regularly test and rate infant, convertible, toddler, and booster seats for crash protection, ease of use, and fit to vehicle. On their site you will find recommendations and buying guides to help you choose the right car seat for your child. (Note: some site content is only available through paid subscription.)
